The author is a biologist, naturalist and recipient of B.A., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees with a primary focus in the area of entomology. He has been involved in teaching, research, extension and administration at the university level for 37 years. He has visited over 40 countries and was engaged in work assignments in 12 of them. He led a number of field study tours to Andros Island in the Bahamas and received five excellence in teaching awards, an outstanding service award, and an outstanding international scholar award. During his career, he has written many publications and given many professional presentations, workshops, short courses, and seminars in the USA (including Guam) and in 14 other countries. He delights in the exploration and discovery of life forms in our natural environment.
